Sleep aide.

Flipping through the channels late at night i find the dreaded English premier soccer league. Usually if i see soccer my temper gets short and i wonder why anyone would ever watch such a thing. Today for some reason i decide to try and give the sport a legitimate try. Some team named the park rangers were facing the spurs so for the next half hour i watched and listened as two English commentators described the action. What I discovered was that soccer has two many limitations in it.The sport would be better if  you were allowed to use both your hands and feet to advance the ball. Speed in sports is vital and if you limit it without good reason people become frustrated and bored. There has to be a short term benefit for the time spent watching the sport or the action becomes repitive and meaningless. Fake flopping and psedo action away from an opportnity to score only delay an already boring pursuit. I also noticed chanting and jeering during certain parts of the time but i wasnt sure if that was meant to ward off the boredom or create a distraction before the real action started. I became psedo hypnotized watching the ball kicked and or booted around the field and only came out of it when a substitution stopped the action. There were a few minor opportunities to score the ball but the 45 minute half and extra time came to an end with the score being knotted at zero. The bottom line for me about soccer is that the game is an aquired taste and it must be aquired at an early age because this particular sport STINKS. The game i watched ended up in a scoreless tie and if i had watched it all the way through I would have fallen asleep or died of boredom.

  1. LOL Rick! I think us Americans are uncultured or something. The whole world loves soccer.
